IT STARTS HERE.
Jehovah Jireh—the God who provides, You know. Maybe she can keep it a secret from some. From her parents, her friends, her children, her pastor. Her husband, even. Maybe she can bury the credit cards in the bottom of her wallet. Stash her passwords in a place no one looks. Keep the lights on and the water running and the table set.
I have been fortunate enough to witness and experience various formats of prayer, each unique and beautiful in their own right. All entered into for the same purpose, communication with God, and to achieve a personal relationship with Jesus. When we understand this foundation, prayer becomes a powerful and sacred gift.
Love Prays. The words embossed on a T-shirt and purchased as a fundraiser for a dying young girl whose life I had only followed through an online blog, have had far-reaching effects. The vibrant life of the small child for which these words were penned may be gone, but the message of her life and those who loved her will live forever.
As I sit here in my cozy spot in my kitchen, I look outside at the vast greenery and splashes of bright colors from the many summer flowers. But soon those colors will be replaced by the more subtle hues of fall bringing another splendid scene out my window, similar in some ways but different in others. My life is a reflection of these beautiful seasons: so many cherished memories and moments but many changes along the way.
It was a bit of a “fairy tale”… the beautiful orphan catching the attention of the most powerful man in the land. She moved from her home and was offered all the best that money could buy. This girl was not only lovely, but she was brave and wise too. But fairy tales usually have dark sides, and this one was no different. The young woman was in danger--as were her family and her people.
